Raustad, Julie, RN

Consent agreement

Oct 10, 2018

On October 10, 2018 a panel of the Inquiry Committee approved a Consent Agreement between BCCNP and Julie Raustad of Vancouver.

On December 15, 2014, the Registrant failed to initiate CPR and/or other life saving measures to a non-responsive woman who had arrived in transport to police cells, in spite of being one of two healthcare professionals employed to provide medical care.

The Registrant has voluntarily agreed to a limit on practice whereby she would be supervised for six to twelve months if working in an acute care, critical care or emergency setting. The limit is in effect for three years. Additional terms include education on professional ethics, meeting(s) with a BCCNP regulatory practice consultation, and development of a self-reflection tool designed to ensure that the Registrant’s conduct does not recur.

The Inquiry Committee is satisfied that the terms will protect the public.
