Consent agreement

On January 25, 2019 a panel of the Inquiry Committee approved a Consent Agreement between BCCNP and Arlene Casimiro of New Westminster, B.C., resulting from:

  1. A breach of her June 15, 2015 Consent Agreement when she failed to inform BCCNP in a timely manner of her suspension from her Employer (as required per the Agreement); and
  2. Competence concerns on or around October to November 2017, related primarily to medication administration and documentation concerns as well as concerns related to critical thinking.

The Registrant has voluntarily agreed to terms equivalent to limits and conditions on practice, including: a Reprimand resulting from the breach of her June 18, 2015 Consent Agreement when she failed to promptly and accurately notify BCCNP of a change in her employment status; maintaining non-practising registration until successful completion of either a formal 250 hour consolidated clinical practice,  Nurse Re-Entry Program (not on-line), or a complete Nursing Program; After converting to practising registration and for a minimum of 12 months, limiting employment to one employer and one unit, refraining from working in high acuity areas, not be “in charge”, and not be the sole RN on duty; completion of remedial education related t safe medication administration and documentation; and undergo a BCCNP Regulatory Practice Support Consultation.

The Inquiry Committee is satisfied that the terms will protect the public.
