Consent agreement

Mar 29, 2019

On March 29, 2019,  a panel of the Inquiry Committee approved a Consent Agreement between BCCNP and Myra San Jose of Richmond, BC, to remediate practice issues related to posting disrespectful and unprofessional comments on Facebook about patients in her care. While the patient names were not identified in the Registrant's postings, the Inquiry Committee was of the view that the comments were such that the Registrant's colleagues would have been able to identify who she was referring to and members of the public may also have been able to.

The Registrant has voluntarily agreed to a four week suspension for the conduct. Following the suspension, she has also agreed to terms designed to remediate her practice including: completion of remedial education in the areas of patient privacy, professional boundaries, and professionalism and ethics in nursing practice. The Registrant will complete a consultation with a BCCNP Regulatory Practice Consultant.

The Inquiry Committee is satisfied that the terms will protect the public.
