Treivish, Menachem, RN

Consent agreement

Sep 13, 2019

On September 13, 2019 a panel of the Inquiry Committee approved a Consent Agreement between BCCNP and Menachem ("Manny") Treivish of Langley, B.C. to remediate practice issues related to his lack of professional communication with health care team members, failure to provide patient centered care when initiating an unwanted conversation related to goals of care with a critically ill patient's spouse in the presence of her young children, and failing to take reasonable steps to prevent a patient from harming himself by self-extubation.

The Registrant has voluntarily agreed to a reprimand, a one month suspension of his registration, and to terms equivalent to a condition on practice, including a prohibition from working as a member of the ICU Outreach team, being the "in-charge" nurse or supervising new staff or providing regulatory oversight to nursing students. The Registrant has also agreed to complete remedial education related to professional communication and ethics and to undergo sensitivity training.

The Inquiry Committee is satisfied that these terms will protect the public.
