Closter, Angela, RN

Consent agreement

Oct 17, 2019

On October 17, 2019 a panel of the Inquiry Committee approved a Consent Agreement between BCCNP and Angela Closter of Mountain View, California, to remediate practice issues related to her unauthorized and unsupported narcotic access in the workplace, in July 2018. Specifically, in July 2018, the Registrant exhibited a pattern of withdrawing narcotics for patients without orders, patients who had little to no pain, and/or patients who did not receive the narcotic. Over five shifts, six Tylenol #3s and 79 mg of Hydromorphone were unaccounted for. The Registrant voluntarily converted to non-practising registration during investigation.

The Registrant has voluntarily agreed to terms equivalent to Limits and Conditions on practice, including a reprimand and coursework on ethics and professionalism. Upon a return to nursing practice, the Registrant will immediately be suspended for 4 months, followed by a 1-year prohibition from access and administration of controlled drugs and subsequent 2-year period of supervised access.

The Inquiry Committee is satisfied that the terms will protect the public.
