Rockliff, Melanie, RN

Consent agreement

Dec 18, 2019

On December 18, 2019 a panel of the Inquiry Committee approved a Consent Agreement between BCCNP and Melanie Rockliff of Burnaby, B.C., to remediate practice issues related to nursing competency in documentation, pharmacology, pathophysiology, clinical judgement and critical thinking. These practice concerns occurred between October 2018 and June 2019 and were recurrent, despite coaching and 1:1 mentorship during the referenced period.

The Registrant has voluntarily agreed to terms equivalent to a condition on practice, including:

  1. Not practicing as a nurse pending completion of the prescribed remedial education;
  2. Meeting with a BCCNP Practice Support Consultant to complete a self-assessment identifying the circumstances leading to the current issues and preventing their recurrence; and
  3. Engaging in a period of supervision upon returning to practice, disclosing the Consent Agreement to colleagues for oversight purposes, and providing monthly reports to BCCNP.

The Inquiry Committee is satisfied that the terms will protect the public.
