Sandhu, Harjit, RN

Consent agreement

Feb 16, 2020

On February 16, 2020, a panel of the Inquiry Committee approved a Consent Agreement between BCCNP and Harjit Sandhu of Surrey, B.C., to remediate practice issues related to administering a narcotic to the wrong patient, applying a nicotine patch to a patient instead of a nitro patch as ordered, and administering the wrong dose of albumin to a patient twice during her shift.

The Registrant has voluntarily agreed to terms equivalent to limits on practice, including: a period of 2 weeks where she will work day shifts only and a 6 month prohibition on being the nurse in charge, working as sole RN, or providing regulatory supervision of nursing student activities. She will also complete remedial education related to medication administration, documentation, and professional standards, as well as engage with the Regulatory Practice Consultation program and develop a robust learning plan to address her knowledge deficits.

The Inquiry Committee is satisfied that the terms will protect the public.
