English, Andrea, RPN

Consent agreement

Feb 22, 2020

On February 22, 2020  a panel of the Inquiry Committee approved a Consent Agreement between BCCNP and Andrea English of Port Hardy to remediate practice issues related to the following:

In October 2017, the Registrant began a relationship with a vulnerable adult client. The nurse-client relationship began in June 2017 in a small community. The Registrant attended medical appointments with the client, representing herself as both the client's nurse and romantic  partner, and allowed the client to temporarily move into her home despite the client having their own accommodations. The relationship became known to the college in late 2018.

The Registrant has agreed to resolve the matter by way of a Consent Agreement including:

  • The cancellation of her registration to practise as a nurse.
  • Public notice of the reason for the cancellation.
  • An agreement not to apply for reinstatement of registration for at least five years, at which time she would need to meet the character, competence and fitness requirements of registration.  Past matters would be considered at that time.

The Inquiry Committee is satisfied that the terms will protect the public.
