Balikwisha Patanguli, Zenath , Former LPN

Consent agreement

Jun 1, 2020

On June 1, 2020,  a panel of the Inquiry Committee approved a Consent Agreement between BCCNP and Zenath Balikwisha Patanguli, Former LPN, to remediate practice issues that occurred during the nightshift of October 23, 2019 related to her failure to adhere to a Penticton, B.C.’s facility’s policies and procedures when a resident had fallen, failed to report the fall to the oncoming shift, was initially dishonest with the employer denying that the resident had fallen, and after the incident contacted a colleague asking that she provide the employer with false facts related to the incident.

The Former Registrant has voluntarily agreed to terms equivalent to a condition on practice, including: a reprimand resulting from her conduct of being initially dishonest when questioned by the employer denying that a patient had fallen when in fact they had, remedial education related to documentation and elder abuse, completion of a learning plan, and a limit for 12 months to not work in the “in charge” role or be the sole nurse on duty.

The Inquiry Committee is satisfied that the terms will protect the public.
