Medical Assistance in Dying: revised standards in effect, updated resource section

Jan 13, 2020

Recent revisions to LPN, NP, RN and RPN scopes of practice relating to Medical Assistance in Dying (MAiD) came into effect Jan. 3, 2020. We encourage nurses to review their respective scope document to ensure they're familiar with the MAiD standards.

BCCNP has also revised and centralized our MAiD resource section for all nurses. It includes information for nurses and nurse practitioners on their role in Medical Assistance in Dying, as well as FAQs and resources.

Harmonized resources

Looking for additional practice resources? Visit the All Nurses resource section of the website and review case studies, FAQs and more. BCCNP also continues to maintain designation-specific resource pages for LPNs, RPNs, and RNs & NPs.
