Successful completion of an entry-to-practice exam is a requirement for initial practising registration for each nursing designation. As BCCNP and other businesses take measures to help stop the spread of COVID-19, scheduled test dates are being impacted. The current status of the upcoming test dates for each test are below. This announcement will be updated as more information becomes available.
We have made the decision to postpone the Objective Structured Clinical Exam (OSCE) administration that was scheduled for May 9, 2020. Currently, the next OSCE scheduled for September 26, 2020. At this point in the pandemic, we are unable to confirm whether it will be possible to schedule a date before then, or to maintain this date. Updates will be provided as they become available. Candidates who were registered for this exam date are being contacted directly to discuss their registration options.
Effective March 17, Pearson Vue, the company that administers the NCLEX-RN, suspended test delivery at it’s test centres for at least 30 days, and all writings scheduled during that 30-day period have been cancelled. NCSBN will be extending the authorization to test (ATT) For individuals with tests previously scheduled between March 17 to April 16, 2020, by six months. Scheduled writers are being notified of these changes by email. Provisional registrants who are impacted by this change will be contacted directly.
The next writing of the Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Canada Exam (RPNCE) is currently scheduled for May 20, 2020. This exam date is currently going ahead as scheduled, although this may change based on the status of the COVID-19 pandemic closer to the exam date.
The next writing of the Canadian Practical Nurse Registration Exam (CPNRE) is currently scheduled for June 8-28, 2020, and is currently going ahead as scheduled, although this may change based on the status of the COVID-19 pandemic closer to the exam date.
