The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted our work, but we're pleased to report we are still on track to implement the exam in January 2022.
We would like to thank those schools who were able to field test exam questions prior to the closures caused by COVID-19. We are looking into options to continue field testing (including a remote option), while still maintaining the needed level of security and minimizing the impact on schools, students and resources. We are currently getting feedback from educators to see how we can continue to work together to complete the necessary field testing.
video is now available to explain how a computer adaptive test (CAT exam) works. We encourage educators to share it with their students and colleagues.
Due to Covid-19, we had to postpone the workshops we had planned for April. The workshops will feature exam development experts covering topics such as the REx-PN Test Plan; Computerized Adaptive Testing (CAT); and how to write CAT-style test questions.
To accommodate the current virtual nature of meetings, we are looking to hold several shorter sessions in October/November to cover the various topics, while making it easier for educators from across the province to attend. A recorded version of the webinars will also be made available for viewing later at any time. We will be reaching out to educators directly over the coming months to provide more details.
