A revised version of the Entry-Level Competencies for Registered Nurses is now available; the revisions come into effect on Dec. 31, 2020 to replace the current version (2015).
Entry-level competencies (ELCs) are the knowledge, skills, attitudes and judgements required to practise safely, competently and ethically. The ELCs are revised through national and provincial consultation every five to seven years to ensure their continued relevance to nursing practice and consistency across Canada.
