BCCNP is pleased to welcome Etienne van Eck as Deputy Registrar, Inquiry & Discipline.
Etienne brings 16 years of experience in professional regulation, including eight years as Director of Investigations for the College of Physicians and Surgeons of B.C. and eight years as Investigator with the Law Society of B.C. Etienne came to Canada from South Africa, where he trained and worked as a policeman. His diverse 16-year police career includes two years spent as co-commander of President Nelson Mandela’s protection team in the mid-1990s.
BCCNP’s mandate is to protect the public through the regulation of all nurses in British Columbia. As Deputy Registrar, Etienne will support BCCNP in meeting its mandate by leading a skilled Inquiry and Discipline team in investigating complaints, conducting discipline hearings, reviews and appeals, and monitoring compliance with limits and conditions on registrants.
