If you answered YES, BCCNP has an exciting role as Infrastructure Analyst within the Information Technology team.

The BC College of Nursing Professionals (BCCNP) is hiring an Infrastructure Analyst to contribute to the growth and improvement of the organization. Our organization relies heavily on technology to accomplish our work, and this means we are always improving and changing. You will work with the Information Technology team to provide support to all users from multiple health professional regulatory bodies who are participating in a shared information system. This position supports new technology initiatives and projects by working with departments and project teams in defining, evaluating and implementing technical requirements.

What you will be doing

Reporting to the Chief Officer, Operations, and under the direction of the Systems Architect, Infrastructure, the Infrastructure Analyst, supports the Information Technology team in managing the Azure infrastructure, Citrix environment, Helpdesk function, providing support to other regulatory Colleges in the Consortium via the Service Desk by resolving information infrastructure related helpdesk tickets, and escalating issues and requests as needed. 

The Infrastructure Analyst is responsible for the ongoing support of systems and all network hardware, virtual and physical, and software infrastructure. The Infrastructure Analyst keeps systems secure and ensures all systems and data are protected backed up and recoverable.

Responsibilities include

  • Planning, designing, implementing, monitoring and managing the Azure server infrastructure and supporting physical and virtual networking infrastructure
  • Communicating with key stakeholders impacted by changes or maintenance to systems and infrastructure
  • Preparing and executing IT infrastructure projects and operational activities. Providing timely updates on the status and progress of these projects and operational activities
  • Creating and maintaining all systems and infrastructure documentation
  • Installing and/or upgrading, configuring and maintaining virtual and physical hardware and software. Reviewing security posture of the environment with security staff and consultants
  • Providing technical guidance, orientation and support to IT colleagues to leverage the environment
  • Establishing and managing a comprehensive network-based backup regiment of databases and integral systems. Maintaining full knowledge of the disaster recovery and business continuity plan for restoring the environment in case of catastrophic failure
  • Developing and implementing best practice procedures and IT standards as required
  • Creating and maintaining monitoring tools for the systems and infrastructure. Proposing improvements for the systems and infrastructure based on results and observations
  • Troubleshooting systems and infrastructure issues

Your skills and abilities 

Must have:
  • MCSA/MCSE or College diploma, or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience
  • Minimum 4 years recent experience supporting office 365  
  • Minimum 4 years recent experience managing and supporting MS Windows servers (2012-2019)
  • Minimum 2 years desktop support with Windows 10, and Macs
Experience matching 2 of the following 5 criteria:
  1. Minimum of 2 years recent experience supporting Meraki, SonicWALL, Palo-Alto, Cisco, or Juniper
  2. Minimum 2 years of experience supporting servers hosted in large data centers , Azure or AWS 
  3. Minimum 2 years of experience supporting clusters  and/or load  balancers 
  4. Minimum 2 years of experience supporting Citrix virtual desktop environment 
  5. Minimum of 1 or year experience supporting Microsoft’s GP and CRM platforms
​Would be nice if applicant had the following
  • SharePoint administration 
  • PowerShell or other scripting experience 
  • Asigra backup and recovery 
  • Experience with office 365 migrations
