The BC College of Nursing Professionals (BCCNP) has an opening for a temporary Accountant for a 12-month term, with a possibility of extension, in the Operations Department. In this role, you will work closely with the Finance Team to process and complete the full-cycle accounting on a monthly basis and support year-end reporting.
You are either a designated CPA, or well on your way to becoming a CPA, and are committed to acting in the public interest. BCCNP is the college empowered under the Health Professions Act to regulate the practice of all licensed practical nurses, registered nurses, registered psychiatric nurses and nurse practitioners in British Columbia. Reporting to the Manager, Finance, the Accountant, is responsible for optimizing the day-to-day efficiency of the Finance Team, by completing first-level reviews of data entry, providing assistance and ongoing support to the Accounting Clerks and assisting with and overseeing the running of various financial reports, general filing duties, and the reconciliation of account balances and bank statements.
This role collaborates with internal BCCNP staff and contractors, department leaders and managers in order to provide advice and assistance to departments on payment and revenue management, accounting procedures, systems, processes, and compliance controls.
Externally, the Accountant also works with shared services colleges, key financial service providers (including auditors and tax advisors) as required to provide accounting support and to complete compliance tasks.
