Accounting Clerk — Operations (Category 4)

Are you a thorough and conscientious finance professional with great organizational and interpersonal skills? If you are proactive with strong task management skills and a keen eye for detail, this temporary, full-time opportunity may be for you. This role in the Operations department is responsible for providing intermediate to complex accounting and clerical support to the Finance program, and Executive Office department.

Responsibilities

As recorded in the Collective Agreement with MoveUP Together (COPE Local 378), the responsibilities of the role will include the following:

  • Maintain accounting document files; including daily work, accounts receivable and accounts payable.
  • Perform data entry, production, distribution and deposits of accounts payable cheques, revenue receipts and budget planning.
  • Track, resolve and/or refer accounting documentation issues or discrepancies.
  • Perform routine, standardized clerical work, which can include file maintenance, fielding employee queries as needed, and managing correspondence when required.

Education, qualifications & skills

Our ideal candidate will:

  • Have four years of related experience, and carry at least a secondary, high school diploma
  • Demonstrate intermediate skills in accounts receivable, accounts payable, bookkeeping, and general accounting
  • Have experience using Microsoft Great Plains, or a similar platform;
  • Be able to type at least 45 wpm
  • Demonstrate excellent communication, customer service and collaboration skills, while fostering an organizational culture that promotes mutual respect, teamwork and service excellence​
