If you answered YES, the BC College of Nursing Professionals (BCCNP) has an exciting opportunity for an internal Organization Development Consultant that may be right for you. This role is a regular full-time position with the College.

In this role, you will connect with management and staff across the organization to determine needs and to develop strategies to support the organization in achieving its strategic aims and regulatory mandate. BCCNP is a newly created regulatory college, bringing together all nursing disciplines within one organization.

BCCNP is the college empowered under the Health Professions Act to regulate the practice of all licensed practical nurses, registered nurses, registered psychiatric nurses and nurse practitioners in British Columbia. What you will be doing

Reporting to the Chief Officer, Communications and People, and working as a key member of the team, you will work across the organization to assess, design, develop, facilitate and evaluate a range of organization development interventions, from leader/manager development to change management to team building to coaching.

Responsibilities include:

  • Developing an organization development strategy for the College, including leader/manager development, culture integration, employee engagement, team building, change management and coaching;
  • Designing and delivering a leadership and management curriculum, aligned with key competencies, organizational values, and organizational culture;
  • Leading OD initiatives, interventions, and projects by assessing needs, gathering data, creating project plans, tools and resources;
  • Developing and implementing a culture integration strategy;
  • Working with management to plan and implement organization-wide initiatives;
  • Leading/facilitating team development and change initiatives, developing change management plans, training plans, and risk reduction plans, key milestones, reporting out and evaluating;
  • Providing coaching support and OD resources to managers;
  • Evaluating the quality and impact of OD initiatives, ensuring outcomes are aligned with organizational strategies;

Your education and skills

Education and experience:

  • Master's degree in industrial/organizational psychology, organization development, human resource management, psychology or a related field.
  • 5 to 7 years of relevant and increasingly responsible experience as an OD practitioner.
  • Knowledge and experience with adult learning principles, and strategies for meeting a range of learning needs; knowledge if instructional design required.
  • Ability to deliver training and learning outcomes in person or through online delivery; demonstrated ability to create high quality and engaging presentation using a variety of technologies;
  • Formal coaching certification from an accredited program is preferred; coaching experience required.


  • Demonstrated ability to partner with management to assess needs and to offer recommendations/solutions to challenges; ability to ensure the successful design and implementation of OD initiatives and development programs;
  • Demonstrated experience in consultation and facilitation;
  • Excellent communicator with advanced verbal and written communication, facilitation and presentation skills, and positive influencing skills required;
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization;
  • Project management, organization and prioritization skills, and strong time management skills are required;
  • Strong client service and results orientation focus;
  • Advanced skills in PowerPoint, Word, Adobe and SharePoint, and demonstrated ability to learn and adapt to online systems and tools;
  • Ability to build and maintain lasting relationships with other departments, key business partners, and other stakeholders.
