The annual general meeting provides an opportunity for the board to report on its stewardship of BCCNP and for registrants to submit resolutions and discuss items that are of interest to registrants and relate to the legislated mandate of BCCNP to protect the public.
The AGM is conducted in accordance with the provisions set out under the Health Professions Act, the BCCNP Bylaws and the AGM Procedural Rules adopted by the BCCNP Board.
Resolutions are advisory-only: The Board decides what action, if any, it will take on resolutions approved at a general meeting. Resolutions can also be submitted directly to the Board at anytime during the year.
The BCCNP bylaws require that the following matters must be considered at the AGM:
The AGM is open to all BCCNP registrants and members of the public. Registrants in good standing attending the AGM can participate in discussions, ask questions of the board and vote on resolutions and any other matters that might arise during the AGM that require a vote.
